IRC Commands

Why would you want to do things the hard way? Maybe you are using an IRC client other than the Java Client (like pirch or mIRC for Windows; or Ircle for the Mac). Maybe you are used to chatting under the IRC protocol, and wish to do things that way.

Messages Window

To begin, open the Messages Windows. Except for the few commands mentioned elsewhere in this manual, the output from all IRC commands is sent to the Messages Window. It is recommended you enter all IRC commands from this window.

Channel and Nickname Services

For those familiar with IRC Services, ChatSpace provides a compatibility with Dalnet-style Services commands, such as /msg nickserv register mypassword. In this context, Room Moderators are equivalent to AOP; Room Owners are equivalent to SOP.

This is an alternate way of controlling registering rooms and nicknames.

Note: that the entire Dalnet Services commandset is not supported -- only the commands that perform actions that are meaningful in the ChatSpace environment.
