Getting Started

Connecting to the Server

To begin chatting, it is necessary to connect to a ChatSpace Server. A server can be easily located by browsing the ChatSpace Community Directory, highlighting the server's listing, and clicking on it. If you are not looking for a particular server, this is also a good place to browse the different chat servers that are currently available.

When signing on to a server for the first time, the login panel will be displayed. If you come back to this server, it will usually remember the nickname and password you used last time -- in which case you won't have to enter them again.

Once you sign on, you will be presented with the ChatSpace Java Client. The ChatSpace Java Client Interface is depicted below:
