TECH TIPS By Nnickee, ChatSpace Support By default, registered nicknames and rooms never expire on your ChatSpace Chat Server. They are kept until they are manually dropped. If you have a very large number of users who register nicknames (or rooms) on your site, you may wish to have them set to automatically expire if they go unused for X number of days. To do this, open the Registry Editor (Start -> Run -> Regedit) and go down to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ChatSpace\ChatSpace\1.3\ChatNicks branch. Add a new DWORD value. Name it ChatExpiration and select Base Decimal and make its value the number of days you've decided on. To set the number of days before rooms expire, go to the ChatSpace\ChatSpace\1.3\ChatChans branch. Again, add a new DWORD value, but this time you name it ChatChanExpDays and then set the Base Decimal value the number of days for rooms. Rooms are considered unused when a moderator has not joined them. | |||
